Not like there would be really a whole of surprise with who I'm voting for. I'm all set with my registration, and as of 5 minutes ago I know where I'm voting and what I need to bring the day of. Yay first time voting!
I believe this
was already widely linked, but in case you haven't read this person's critique about Palin's "Joe Six Pack" commentary, it's worth looking at.
Note that I'm not going to apologize for my politics, but I am aware that there are people on my flist who are republican/mccain supporters. I would strongly recommend that we agree to disagree, and that you refrain from clicking on cuts/links that have potential to offend. =D
Anyways, I must say that the SNL skits of the debates gave me the hiccups. =( They're seriously dangerously hilarious. Tina Fey as Palin = more than epic. Legendary even. DARE I SAY, ARTIFACT.
My math professor has a video page now. If you want to learn calculus, start here
. He is considering giving extra credit for people who go through all of them and rate his outfits. I would so totally do that. *eyes glaze over*
I've been reading this fic on FFN called "Shattered Illusions
". I know, Pit of Voles, bite me.
While it may not be the best written or most canonically adherent, I really like this story as a what-if scenario. It's pre-OotP, and based on the idea that the Dursleys have abused Harry, and his uncle with Harry into the car gets into a major accident. There's depiction of the (muggle) hospital system for a couple chapters, and plenty of legal stuff too regarding the impending trial, custody, etc. What I like the most is how the author explores Harry's reactions to the abuse, and then learning how to cope with affection after being taken in by the Weasleys, be it parental, sibling, or romantic (with Ron). While her Harry might be a little bit 2-dimensional at times, I think that exploring those emotions is worthwhile.
I'm about half way done with my assignment for hp_yule_ball
